On my way to a meeting the other day I was stopped at a large intersection by a police car’s flashing lights. Upon closer inspection, the policeman was out of his car pushing a woman’s compact car out of the intersection so the traffic could get by. Next thing I knew, I heard warning bells and a train’s whistle. Moments later, a freight train was bounding through that same intersection.
I was stunned and reminded about the importance of timing.
In business as in life, timing can be everything. If you are in the right place at the right time it can make a huge difference in your bottom line. If a large company is in need of your services and you are easy to find, there can be a very happy ending – for you and for them.
Social media including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and email marketing can be great avenues for ensuring your have perfect timing. Reminding your clients and prospects what you do, providing them great resources and keeping them up-to-date on the latest and greatest things happening in your industry can be all the timing you need.
